Code & compliance

Built to meet Georgia’s food service rules

Georgia’s Food Service Rules (Chapter 511-6-1, revised in 2025 to adopt the 2022 FDA Food Code) require floors that are smooth, durable and easily cleanable. Rule 511-6-1-.07 calls for coved and sealed floor-wall junctions where floors are water-flushed and prohibits carpet in food prep, walk-in and warewashing areas.

The Georgia Department of Public Health’s food service design manual goes further: floors must be non-absorbent in areas that get wet, and the accepted materials for walk-in cooler floors include “PVC with chemically welded seams”, alongside quarry tile and poured epoxy. Protect-All with Rapid Weld or heat-welded seams, integral cove base and stainless drain rings is designed around exactly those requirements.

Inspections are handled by county environmental health offices within Georgia’s public health districts. Final approval always rests with your inspector, and we are happy to provide spec sheets for plan review.
