Working in Gainesville

Floors for a working town

Gainesville built the modern poultry industry: Jesse Jewell pioneered the vertically integrated model here, and six of the city’s ten largest employers are in chicken processing. That economy creates a lot of demanding floor space beyond the processing line itself: employee cafeterias, break rooms, cold storage, wash rooms and the restaurants that feed shift workers around the clock.

Northeast Georgia Health System, one of the region’s largest employers, and campuses like Brenau University and the University of North Georgia add dining halls, kitchens and fitness spaces. Hall County School District serves about 27,000 students across more than 30 schools.

Protect-All is rated by its maker for everything from freezer rooms to fry lines, resists animal fats and cleaning chemicals, and has no grout to harbor bacteria. Food service in Hall County is inspected by North Health District 2. Georgia’s Food Service Rules (Chapter 511-6-1) require floors that are smooth, durable and easily cleanable, with coved and sealed floor-wall junctions where floors are water-flushed. The state’s food service design manual lists “PVC with chemically welded seams” as an accepted walk-in cooler floor.

How a project runs

From walk-through to back in service

Site assessment

We walk the space, measure, check the slab or subfloor and note drains, thresholds and equipment that has to move.

Clear scope

You get a written scope: install system, color, cove base, drain rings, schedule and price. No guesswork on install night.

Install

Our factory-trained crew preps the substrate, sets Protect-All in urethane adhesive and welds the seams. Most kitchens are scheduled around closed hours.

Back to work

Rapid Weld seams take foot traffic in about 20 to 30 minutes; the adhesive reaches normal traffic in roughly 12 hours.

Gainesville FAQ

Questions we hear in Gainesville

Can Protect-All go in a processing plant?
Protect-All is used in food service, cold storage and wash-down areas and resists animal fats and chemicals. Processing floors with heavy forklift traffic, hot caustic wash or constant standing water are a specialized environment, so we assess each area individually and will tell you honestly where Protect-All fits and where it does not.
Does it work in freezers?
Yes. Oscoda Plastics rates Protect-All for the sub-zero conditions in coolers and freezers. For freezer replacements we check the insulated floor and subfloor first; see walk-in freezer floor replacement.
Who inspects restaurant floors in Hall County?
North Health District 2 handles food service inspections for Hall and Forsyth counties under Georgia’s Food Service Rules, which require smooth, durable, easily cleanable and non-absorbent floors in food prep, walk-ins and warewashing areas.
Do you cover the lake communities around Lanier?
Yes. We regularly work around Lake Lanier, including Flowery Branch, Oakwood, Buford and Cumming.
