The problem

Slips are expensive

Slips, trips and falls are among the most common and costly injury claims in food service, and they happen in the same places every time: cook lines, dish pits, walk-ins, locker rooms and the entrance on a rainy day. Mats help until they curl, slide or soak through, and then they become a trip hazard themselves.

A floor that is slip-resistant on its own, and stays that way when it is wet or greasy, fixes the problem at the source.

  • Matte finish certified high-traction by the NFSI
  • Manufacturer reports a wet coefficient of friction of 0.90 from certification testing
  • Traction built into the material, not a coating that wears off
  • Resilient surface is more forgiving if someone does fall

FAQ

Slip-Resistant Flooring questions

What is the most slip-resistant commercial flooring?
Look for a floor with third-party traction certification that performs when wet and greasy. Protect-All’s matte finish is NFSI certified high-traction. See what NFSI certification means.
Is the gloss finish slip-resistant?
The matte finish is the NFSI certified finish, and it is what we recommend for wet and greasy areas. Gloss suits dry areas where appearance matters most.
Will cleaning products make it slippery?
Use the recommended cleaners and avoid waxes or finishes that are not approved for the surface. Grease films left behind by poor cleaning reduce traction on any floor.
Can we get rid of our floor mats?
Many kitchens remove most of their anti-slip and anti-fatigue mats after switching. Keep entrance mats where outdoor water is tracked in.
