Code & compliance

North Carolina’s food code and your floor

North Carolina’s food protection rules, 15A NCAC 18A .2600, adopt the 2017 FDA Food Code (effective October 1, 2021), with inspections by county health departments. The Food Code calls for floors that are smooth, durable and easily cleanable, non-absorbent in food prep areas, walk-in refrigerators and warewashing areas, with coved floor-wall junctions and no carpet in those spaces.

Protect-All with welded seams, integral cove base and stainless drain rings is built around those requirements.

Coverage note: our North Carolina service area covers the western and central part of the state. Eastern and coastal counties are currently outside our range.
