Working in Charlotte

A fast-growing city with busy back-of-house

Charlotte is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, and its restaurant neighborhoods, from Uptown and South End to NoDa, Plaza Midwood and Ballantyne, keep adding kitchens. Bank of America Stadium and the Spectrum Center add high-volume concessions, and Atrium Health, with about 35,700 employees, runs large hospital kitchens and cafeterias.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and UNC Charlotte add cafeterias, locker rooms and athletic spaces. Across all of these, the ask is the same: a floor that is safe when wet, easy to clean and does not need regrouting every few years.

Food service in Charlotte is inspected by Mecklenburg County Environmental Health (Food & Facilities Sanitation). North Carolina’s rules, 15A NCAC 18A .2600, adopt the 2017 FDA Food Code, which calls for smooth, durable, easily cleanable floors and non-absorbent surfaces in walk-ins and prep areas.

How a project runs

From walk-through to back in service

Site assessment

We walk the space, measure, check the slab or subfloor and note drains, thresholds and equipment that has to move.

Clear scope

You get a written scope: install system, color, cove base, drain rings, schedule and price. No guesswork on install night.

Install

Our factory-trained crew preps the substrate, sets Protect-All in urethane adhesive and welds the seams. Most kitchens are scheduled around closed hours.

Back to work

Rapid Weld seams take foot traffic in about 20 to 30 minutes; the adhesive reaches normal traffic in roughly 12 hours.
